Goodnight Moon, Goodnight Boston

Mar 4 | Posted by: Rebecca Loebe |

Goodnight moon, goodnight stars. Goodnight city of Boston, my once-home and site of some major magic today. Goodnight Beau, I am so glad we made a little time to catch up. I mean it when I say we are overdue for a tropical vacation.

Goodnight Chuck E. Costa and Mira Stanley, thank you so much for sounding the horn and letting me know we were in town at the same time. Goodnight Heather Maloney and thank you for putting up with me crowding the green room before your badass sold at show at Club Passim. I think I fell in love with you a little today. I’m harmless, I swear.

Goodnight Club Passim, thank you so much for existing and truly making the world a better place.

Goodnight Jenee, and thanks for turning around when I realized I had forgotten my phone. I really do start to feel a little twitchy on the road if I don’t have it within arms’ reach. Sending major props to everyone who toured before we had the collected knowledge of the known universe in our pockets. Good night Christopher's Cambridge, and your friendly server who made an already pleasant night even better.

Goodnight Toad Cambridge. Oh, TOAD. My favorite of favorite bars. Thank you for indulging me. Goodnight Hugh, even though the hug you gave me moments before I started my set literally broke the front clasp of my bra, forcing me to go Three’s Company style onstage in a dark room full of strangers.* Definitely not in my comfort zone, but not entirely unpleasant.

Goodnight Baker Thomas Band. The last time I was in town for a gig of my own I came to your Thursday night residency afterwards because there is nothing as fun as dancing my ass off to all 12 of you playing full throttle in a bar smaller than my first apartment, which happens to be located just a few miles across town. Actually, you know what? Tonight I realized that there *is* something more fun, and that is playing on that stage with you guys.

Goodnight Danielle. Yes I believe we could be besties if we lived in the same town at the same time. Goodnight Tom and thanks so much for making this delicious evening, and so many delicious evenings for so many delicious folks, happen.

Good night stars. Goodnight air. Goodnight noises everywhere.

* Let’s not talk about it.
